MODERATORS

“While this is my first time working on a zine, I have my degree in graphic design and have worked as a freelance designer running my own business for the past 7 years. I specialize in publication and social media design. I also help run the local anime convention where I am from and have for the past 6 years.”

“This is my first time working on a zine but I run my own jewelry making business and have for quite a few years. I do the financing for my personal business and will have help from the other mods to make sure that things are done properly for the zine.”

“This is my first time working on a zine but I have experience running my own RP discord server as well as years of RPing experience. I have many years running my own discord server. I also am a very avid fanfic reader and very well versed in all things fic.”

“As one of the writer mods, I have over 15 years experience writing fanfiction, roleplays, original short stories, and poetry. I've recently participated as a writer in two zines and about half a dozen bangs. I also have more than ten years experience in various management positions with work.”

“On top of contributing as a page artist in a couple zines and exchange events, I have a lot of experience in working as an Art Mod. Though there have been several zines I have modded for, the most recent are Icy Resurrection: A Genshin Impact Qiqi Zine, and Voyage of Light: A SkyCOTL Zine. I am an experienced artist who excels at critiquing and helping others to create the best pieces they can.”

FAQs

Is there an age minimum to participate in the zine?
Yes. Due to some of the triggering topics the zine may cover, we require that you be at least 18 years of age.
Do you have to fill out the bottom portion with the personal information on the application?
No. The personal information is completely optional. It is just there to get to know you better as a person and an artist.
If you are applying for both a photojournalist and journalist position, do we have to fill out the bottom portion on both?
No. You only have to fill it out on one of the applications or you can skip it all together.
Do my examples have to depict mental health or coping mechanisms or MHA?
No. Your art does not have to show any of these things. We just want to see your best work and your style.
Does the artwork submitted have to be fully complete or can we submit sketches?
You may submit sketches as examples. We just want to see your style. Completed artwork may be asked for as final submission for the zine.
Is there a word count limit or requirement for writing submissions?
No. There is no upper or lower requirement for word count. We just want to see your best work...even if it is almost novel length.
Are collaborations allowed?
Yes. Collaborations with other artists or writers are allowed. You are also allowed to draw artwork for your own stories if you choose to do so.
Are there any topics that are off limits?
All mental health topics are on the table. This includes topics like trans-identity topics and others of that nature.
Will there be topics that are triggering or NSFW?
Yes. There will be some topics that may be triggering to some people as well as NSFW topics. They will be labeled in the table of contents as well as a warning within the zine before they appear.
Are there any required social networks to be part of the zine?
No. While it is encouraged to have an instagram or twitter to stay up to date with the zine, neither is required. There will be a discord for collaborating and working on the zine, but it will still be optional to join. Otherwise, everything will be worked on through group emails.
